The Lake Wales Youth Basketball League conducts a youth basketball program with games played at the Albert Kirkland Sr. Gymnasium and at school gyms. The league is sponsored by the Lake Wales PAL in cooperation with the City of Lake Wales:

Youth Sailing
Formed in 1947, the Lake Wales Pram Fleet is the second oldest such organization in the world and has provided sailing lessons to young people for nearly 60 years. The best skippers in the fleet earn the opportunity to participate in regattas in other cities such as Sarasota and Jensen Beach. Sailboats are provided by the organization and are stored in the Pram Shed located in Lake Wailes Park:
