Road Advisory

City Administration Posted on February 23, 2026

First Street between Park Avenue and Orange Avenue will be closed during the redevelopment of the roadway. Plans include broad sidewalks, two-way cycle track, street trees, rain gardens, site furnishings, parallel parking, and ADA elements. Enhancing the connectivity between the northwest neighborhood and the downtown historic district is a key priority of the Lake Wales Connected Plan. The construction is funded by the Community Project Funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
